How To Use Facebook For Network Marketing Success (Part 2)
Hello my friends! First of all I’d like to thank everyone who read the first article in this series. I received many wonderful comments and compliments on the illustrations.
To Use Facebook For Network Marketing Success involves using tact when connecting with new friends or keeping in touch with the older ones.
This is the subject of Part 2 of this series. But before I get to that let’s quickly recap the key points of Part 1.
1. Use groups to find like minded people.
2. Find a group within your niche.
3. Search the members who have a nice profile pic and look like someone you want to connect with.
4. Make sure their profile contains the completed sections of work/education, about me, and contact info.
Now that you have found your ideal contact lets discuss what to do next.
What to say in a private message and when to send it.
Immediately after I click the +Add Friend button I then click the Facebook message button for a private message.
So … what should you say to another network marketer whom you have never had contact with? I think of it this way… What would you say to someone you just met on the street or while out shopping? You’d probably say hello and you may give them a compliment about somthing they are wearing or purchased right? Apply the same thing in your business. Here’s exactly what I sent to this person..
Wow… ironically as I am doing this while writing the post that person actually has too many friends. (maybe should have done a video, lol). OK, going to pick someone else.
A simple hello, complement, and call to action by telling him I look forward to his reply.
NEVER give a link unless asked!!
This is CRITICAL in network marketing on Facebook. Think of it this way… that person that you just met while shopping, would you give them your address during your 3 minute conversation? Probably not. You might give out your phone number, but in Facebook that’s what a complete profile is for.
If I receive a link from somebody who hasn’t even said hello I actually respond with “Thanks for the spam, I don’t think we have introduced ourselves yet. Next time tell me a little about yourself before you sandblast me with your links. By the way … how’s this method of marketing working for you”?
So What Would You Say To A Connection You Have Had For A While?
Here’s an example of a recent one of mine….
I hope that gave some insight on tactful ways to communicate effectively and start building your relationships with other network marketers using Facebook.
Well, that’s a brief overview of How To Use Facebook For Network Marketing Success when communicating with connections! I’ll look forward to your comments.
In Part 3 you can look forward to information regarding Facebook Fanpages!

You’re welcome. And just for future reference, I may turn this into a free ebook.

Great tips. You must make a connection of something when sending friend requests. If you do get to many, there is no reason to connect. People just fill their friends for status and don’t connect on a friendly level. You can connect to people like you suggested in groups without having to friend everyone. Thanks for your suggestions.

Generally I would say nothing… however, I like this response and agree that a link should only be shared if requested.
“Thanks for the spam, I don’t think we have introduced ourselves yet. Next time tell me a little about yourself before you sandblast me with your links. By the way … how’s this method of marketing working for you”?
Guy,
Thanks for the comment. I get all types of responses to the above quote. But about 80% of the time I discover that technique isn’t working real well for them. That’s when the relationship begins.

Courtesy is a great method for cementing clients and friends…so I agree with not sending links before asked. Great post.
